DOCUMENTARY/34 MNTS/TAMIL,MALAYALAM WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES The documentary, “Get Up, Stand Up”, 34 minutes in duration, is in some ways, an answer to many of the myths surrounding the nuclear power projects, the world over. Though this film is set particularly in the back drop of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project and the people’s struggle against it, it raises almost all of the questions regarding the safety of nuclear plants, development and its imposition on a people, alternate sources of energy and their contribution to the total energy needs, the lack of scientific know-how in disposing nuclear waste, the dependence on foreign resources in the running of a nuclear power plant anywhere in the Third World countries, the ups and downs of the People’s Movement Against Nuclear Energy (PMANE), in Kudankulam etc, etc. In the aftermath of the Fukushima accident and its unprecedented and innumerable fallouts, the people all over the world, even those in France, where they depend so much on Nuclear Power for their electricity, will under no circumstances believe nuclear energy is safe!! As is shown in this documentary, even the former President of India, A P J Abdul Kalaam failed miserably in convincing the ordinary people of Kudankulam of the Plant’s safety. The mainstream media, for all the unsaid reasons, have set their priorities in side-lining the people’s struggle in Kudankulam; to uphold the rights of these fishworkers’ to stand up for their rights, to a safe and clean living, is not countersigned by the popular media. hence it seems all the more important that the message of this documentary film reaches far and wide into the minds of as many people as possible within India and outside. The film, Get Up Stand Up, after having received much acclaim in Kerala, especially after the screening at the International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala, 2012, at various university campuses and other public screenings, we started an anti-nuclear signature campaign from amongst the audience; the result was amazing, people came forward to put their signature in large numbers. This campaign could be carried forward, with your help too.

Filling the Blanks is a 45 minute documentary unfurling in three chapters showcasing the lives of different women – Chitralekha, Elizabeth, Jamila, Teresa, Lissy and others, who are trying to live differently. Certain schemes of the government, for example the PMRY, and some non-governmental initiatives, have encouraged women to take that different step in their life, but living differently isn't easy.
Women living together with their children and no male live-in support are also considered a threat to the moral psyche/fabric of society. The travails of one such family is also brought forth in Filling the Blanks.
A microcosm of these daring and different means of livelihood fraught with humiliation, contempt, and survival strategies are the major thrusts of Filling the Blanks.
The camera and direction of the documentary is by Sreemith, a young video activist and film maker; having taught courses in Film making for the past five years, he is also one of the founder members of Pedestrian Pictures, Trivandrum.

A twelve minute documentary on the after tsunami life in Azheekal Panchayath, Kollam District, Kerala State, India. The documentary focuses on the conflict between the sense of security of the tsunami victims and the disaster management policies of the state and the NGOs. The state often demands the subjects to be in a feel of insecurity and thus better to be ruled. Tsunami is only a background. They dare to use the resources on the lives in ‘margins’. Sometimes some of the victims may raise the same, because at least a child can state, ‘the king is naked’. For an unconditional documentation of fears rather than facts, the film used the perspectives of the school children among the victims.
